Desk presented by Mr. Nelson Ward of Messrs. Attree, Johnson & Ward of 6, Raymond Buildings, successors to the firm of Ellis & Blackmore of Grays Inn. The Desk is the one at which Dickens sat when employed by that firm as a Junior Clerk from May 1827 to November 1828.
