Charles Dickens's Desk
Dickens worked on most of his books at this desk. He probably acquired it during the 1830's and almost certainly used it in this room. He made use of it in his next two homes, 1 Devonshire Terrace (1839-1851) and Tavistock House (1851-1870). It was, however, in use until the end of his life, possibly in his London apartment, over the offices of All the Year Round on Wellington Street.
