Charles Dickens was an avid walker and a genius at capturing what he encountered on his wanderings, and using it in the worlds of his novels.
Join prize-winning writer and experienced creative writing teacher Claire Collison on a two-hour walk, taking in some of the London locations that inspired Dickens and discovering how to turn the sights and sounds of the city today into a muse for your own writing.
A fun and informative practical writing excursion aimed at budding adult writers of all levels of experience.
With guided prompts designed to ensure you leave not only with new writing, but also with the tools to continue using place as inspiration.
Groups will start with a 1-hour, self-guided tour of the Charles Dickens Museum before meeting Claire outside the museum and embarking on a 2-hour creative writing walking tour, ending at Brunswick Square. Writing materials will be provided.
This accessible walk is leisurely and will include plenty of stops along the way. If you have specific access requirements, please let us know in advance.
The walk will take place in all weathers, so please dress accordingly!
