A Birthday to remember

As a fitting start to the 200th Birthday celebrations on Tuesday 7th February 2012 the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall paid an early morning visit to 48 Doughty Street.

They were conducted around the museum by the Chair of Trustees David Wootton and Director Florian Schweizer where they met staff, volunteers and listened to a reading from ‘Great Expectations’ by Gillian Anderson.

Curator Fiona Jenkins said of the day: “It was such a special day for the Museum. I was pleased to see the Prince take such an interest in what we have on display.”
