Just Released: Limited Edition Postcards Commemorating Reopening
The Charles Dickens Museum reopened on 25th July 2020 after more than four months of forced closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. To ensure public safety, the Museum had to put social distancing and additional hygiene measures in place, along with new bright orange signs to communicate the changes. We wanted the signs to be in keeping with the Museum so chose illustrations from Dickens's novels to pair with each message.
Those images became very popular in their own right. Many of you asked about them during your visit. Some of you even reviewed them online, which could not make us happier!
To commemorate the reopening we have prepared an exclusive edition of postcards featuring reproductions of those social distancing messages. To make it extra special, the run has been limited the run to just 100 copies, each hand numbered.
Each pack contains 6 postcards with our social distancing images, including the now iconic Please wash your hands, and a bonus postcard with the set’s number.
The packs cost £6 and every penny goes towards funding the Charles Dickens Museum. Postcards are available via our online Curiosity Shop from Friday 2nd October at 10am BST with the first orders being shipped on the same day!
