The joy of meeting again!
We're looking forward to welcoming you back to the Museum and have made some changes to ensure you have a safe, relaxed and enjoyable visit.
We are re-opening in phases, and from 25th July 2020, our opening hours will be: Friday – Sunday, 10 am – 5 pm, with last entry at 4 pm.
The entire Museum is open, including shop, toilets and lift. Although we are not yet able to offer a full café service, we have a selection of drinks and snacks to enjoy in the garden.
If you are eligible for free admission, please only book a ticket if you are confident you will be able to attend; the Museum has a very limited capacity and relies on admission fees for its survival.
We have introduced timed entry tickets, at 15-minute intervals, to limit the number of people in the Museum and ensure everyone has enough space to have a safe and enjoyable visit.
Everyone, including those eligible for free admission, should book in advance online. We will email your ticket to you, so please have it on your phone or printed out when you arrive.
If you are buying tickets for others, please be sure to let them know what name the ticket is under.
Please note if you book the last slot of the day, you should aim to arrive promptly to ensure you have enough time to see the whole Museum before closing time.
We can accommodate walk ups on the day subject to availability but recommend booking in advance if you can.
If you are a regular visitor you will notice new signs and markers throughout the Museum. Please take care of yourself and others by keeping a safe distance from other visitors during your visit.
The Museum already has a one-way system in most areas, and we have made some small changes to further ensure social distancing. The route is clearly marked and our team is on hand to assist.
Hand sanitiser is available at the entrance and at key points throughout the building.
Face coverings are required throughout the Museum except in the garden.
We have installed protective screens at till points.
Hand sanitiser is available at the entrance and at a number of points throughout the Museum.
In addition to daily professional cleaning, our staff will be regularly cleaning throughout the day, including disinfecting door handles, surfaces and lift buttons.
We would be grateful if visitors could make payments by card if possible.
We are offering private group visits outside of our normal opening hours. Please contact email@example.com for further details.
Cold drinks and snacks are available to be enjoyed in the garden.
