We want some More! Special Exhibition Extended to 2022
We’re delighted to announce that our current special exhibition, More! Oliver Twist, Dickens & Stories of the City, is being extended until 13th March 2022.
Oliver Twist is one of the most famous books in the English language. First published in 1838, it follows the young, workhouse orphan, Oliver, as he encounters characters like Fagin, the Artful Dodger and Nancy.
More! Looks at the inspirations behind this brilliant novel. What were the places, the people and sights which inspired such an incredible book? What was Dickens experiencing in his private life which helped shape his story? What impact has the story had, in the near two centuries since it was first published?
Through a wonderful selection of letters and illustrations, postcards and photos – including a provocative artwork by artist Cold War Steve, we are asking what it is about Oliver Twist that keeps us entertained after such a long time?
The special exhibition is included in museum admission tickets. You can book your tickets here.
