The Pickwick Club A5 Postcard Pack
We hope you enjoy this pack of 12 postcards featuring illustrations by Anna Marongiu, depicting scenes from The Pickwick Papers, Charles Dickens’s first novel.
Anna Marongiu was a Sardinian artist who created 262 illustrations of Charles Dickens’s first novel, The Pickwick Papers, between 1928 and 1929. These rich artworks depict scenes from the novel that have rarely been illustrated, and present a new perspective of Dickens’s novel. Marongiu’s Pickwick illustrations comprise 29 watercolours and 233 line drawings. For each illustration, she noted in Italian the line from the novel that inspired her work. Later, her work was pasted onto coloured sugar paper.
