Join Us - 100 Years to the Day!

9th June 2025
10am - 6pm (last entry at 5pm)
Free Entry!

On 9th June 1925 the Charles Dickens Museum first opened to the public. Eager crowds gathered on the street in a wave of jubilation that the home of the great author had been saved from demolition and was now a space to be admired and enjoyed.

Come and join us on Monday 9th June 2025 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of our opening. To mark this special occasion, the museum will be free for the day, and we are opening an extra hour, until 6pm.

While touring through the rooms in which Dickens once lived and wrote, you will have the opportunity to meet members of the modern Dickens family, who will share their own stories of their illustrious ancestor and tell you some of the fascinating insights of the Charles Dickens Museum and its collection.

There is no need to book in advance for the 9th June, and you can simply turn up on the day.

We can't wait to see you!
