Dickens's Dream, also known as 'A Souvenir of Dickens' is an oil painting by Victorian artist, etcher and illustrator, Robert William Buss (1804-1875).
The painting features Dickens in his Gad’s Hill Place study, conjuring up his characters whilst he sleeps.
Sadly, Buss died before completing the painting, yet its unfinished nature and visible sketching adds to its charm.
