Drama of Dickens for KS3

The Drama of Dickens:

Free museum-based and in-schools outreach activities for KS3

September-November 2025

It's 'Showtime' at the Charles Dickens Museum!
To celebrate 100 years of the museum we'll be showcasing Dickens's contributions to theatre and the spoken word, since the publication of his first novel, to his continuing popularity through TV and film adaptations today.

We thrilled to be able to offer a series of free National Heritage Lottery Funded Key Stage 3 creative drama and performance workshops to Camden and Islington local authority schools.

Sessions will consist of a museum-based workshops onsite followed by one in-school full-day outreach session during the same week, devised and delivered by actor, writer and drama tutor Kieran Rose.

Kieran has been working with the Charles Dickens Museum team utilising both his and their experience and expertise to plan and produce engaging and creative sessions that will be delivered at the museum and in schools.

The aim is for pupils to use Dickens' novels and characters as well as historical and literary techniques to devise their own plays based on the Victorian era.

This will give pupils that chance to explore different areas of the school curriculum and discover a range of dramatic techniques used by industry professionals on screen and stage today.
