Home Education Groups
The Charles Dickens Museum welcomes Home Education groups Wednesday-Friday for self led visits or to book a group onto one of our KS1-KS4 learning sessions

In order to facilitate Home Education groups we will require that organisers ensure that:-
- There is no more than a three-year gap between the age of the oldest and the youngest child taking part in the booked session.
- A maximum of 5 adults can accompany the group while taking part in a learning workshop. These adults would need to stay with the group throughout the session and it is their responsibility to monitor the behaviour of of all students in the group.
- The maximum number of children who can take part in a workshop is 30 - there is flexibility as to the minimum number of children.
Organisers should be aware that:
- Any other adult guardians/carers who wish to visit the museum at the same time will need to pay for their own tickets (£12.50 each) and make an independent visit while they wait for the group to complete their session.
- Younger siblings can be brought along and we do not charge entry for children under 6, however they would not be able to join in with the session.
- Additional children not taking part, aged between 6-16, would need their own entry tickets - £7.50 each.
Costs:
Onsite – 2 hours. All workshops are integrated into interactive guided tours of the historic house.
Class of up to 30 students, Off-peak £250* (Jan-Oct), Peak £290* (Nov-Dec). Please enquire for smaller groups.
Payment is by invoice sent to fall due a month in advance of the session date. Any changes or cancellations must be made up to 21 days in advance of the delivery date. After this point, it is not possible to change or cancel the session without being liable to pay the full amount.
Booking:
All Home Education workshops are offered Wednesday-Friday and run from either 10:00-12:00 or 13:00-15:00 - dependent on availability of dates/times.
