London Literary House Tours

One of the great London literary houses of the Victorian era, 48 Doughty Street was the Bloomsbury home of Charles Dickens and his young family.

Visit Dickens’s study and see his desk and chair, where he sat and penned some of the most famous novels about London, with characters that came to life as he moved about the surrounding streets. However, each room holds a story, not just about Dickens but the important people in his life who lived in or entered this home.

Guided tours only operate outside of normal opening hours. Please see below for the selection of dates and times currently offered.

Self-guided exploration of the historic house and special exhibition is offered within opening hours (Wed-Sun 10 AM to 5 PM). Purchase museum admission tickets

Private tours can be requested. More information on hiring our space out of hours.
