Join us this Christmas for a special performance of Charles Dickens’ timeless classic: A Christmas Carol. With a unique family connection to Dickens himself, this production brings the story even closer to home.

The performance features Oliver alongside his father Mark; Oliver is an accomplished actor with a passion for breathing life back into his ancestor’s great characters, whilst his father, Mark, is a knowledgable enthusiast of Charles Dickens and his work. Their shared love of Dickens has made performing A Christmas Carol together a particularly meaningful and memorable experience.

This is by no means their first Christmas Carol! Oliver and Mark have previously joined forces and performed the story at a variety of events, charities, and venues all over the nation, and delighted audiences with their own distinctive interpretation of their ancestor’s best beloved novella, whilst using the very same words that Dickens did when he performed it all around the country.

Together they will bring a little extra authenticity, warmth and family connection to the world’s favourite Christmas tale.

With their family connection to one of England’s greatest storytellers, this promises to be more than simply another Christmas Carol. It is a chance to experience Dickens’s timeless tale through the eyes, and voices, of two members of his dynasty.

Oliver Dickens graduated from LAMDA in 2014 and has since worked a large variety of jobs in the film industry across cast and crew, from camera to Covid departments! Most notably he has starred in multi-award winning short films such as ‘Good Choice, Joseph’, and ‘The Gnome’ as well as helped produce multiple others as part of 136 Films, a company set up with friends he met at the University of York whilst studying Writing, Directing and Performance. Theatre credits include Ferdinand (Duchess of Malfi); Sebastian (Twelfth Night); Edmund (King Lear); Vershinin (Three Sisters); The Boy (Blood Wedding); Jonathan Harker (Dracula)

He is now embarking on a Dickensian career to celebrate the works of his great ancestor through readings and performances all around the world such as his one man show of A Christmas Carol which he performs annually at the Texan festival Dickens on the Strand each December.

This December Oliver unites with his father, Mark Dickens, to deliver this two man show at the Charles Dickens Museum.
