Filming at the Charles Dickens Museum.

The Charles Dickens Museum is an ideal filming location. Set within an original Georgian townhouse, built in 1809, the museum provides historically authentic backdrops which are perfect for documentaries, discussion locations or period dramas.

If your film subject is directly related to Charles Dickens, we can draw upon the world's largest collection of Dickens related treasures, including much of his own furniture, portraiture, letters, clothing and manuscripts. We offer inhouse curatorial support to all bookings, meaning that you gain not only a filming location, but access to our leading research and collection.

We offer a dynamic and client focused approach, including:

  • Exclusive access to the Charles Dickens Museum, meaning you don't have to worry about visual or audio interruption.
  • Staff break out and Green Room areas, including access to plug in points, and space to have a refreshment station.
  • Wi-Fi throughout the venue, meaning you can upload your shots immediately after filming.
  • Bespoke service and curatorial support. Where possible, we are more than happy to adjust the room layout and allow for set dressing.
  • Flexible booking times - we know that filming doesn't always go to plan, so we never take more than one film booking per day to allow for overflow. We don't restrict filming times to office hours, and can allow for location filming until 10pm.
  • Adjustable lighting in most rooms, so we can get that perfect lighting shot.
  • On hand support throughout your filming session.

Filming needs to take place on Monday or Tuesday when we are closed to the general public, or after 5.30pm.
