Volunteers
Much of the necessary work at the museum is carried out by a dedicated and valued team of volunteers. We have a variety of roles available within the Museum and we strive to offer specialist training and development opportunities where possible. We welcome all applications from potential volunteers who wish to help support our various activities. Please note that you have to be at least 18 years old to volunteer.
Reasons for getting involved
- Meeting likeminded people – fellow volunteers, visitors, researchers
- Learning new skills and gain work-related experience in a visitor facing environment
- Deepening your knowledge on Charles Dickens, his life and his novels
- Being invited to volunteer talks, events and other social gatherings
We are happy to reimburse any reasonable out of pocket travel expenses for up to £10 a day.
