Step back in time this Christmas and experience the historic home of Charles Dickens in a truly unique guided tour.

You’ll begin your evening with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie upon arrival, where you’ll be introduced to Lucinda Dickens Hawksley, patron of the Charles Dickens Museum and the 3x great granddaughter of Charles Dickens.

From there you’ll be immersed into the world of Charles Dickens, touring through his historic London home with Lucinda as your expert guide, learning about the life and times of this incredible writer, and how – among other things – he came to write his immortal novella, A Christmas Carol

As you soak up the historic atmosphere, you’ll discover the many treasures of our museum, such as Dickens’s famous desk, where he penned stories such as Great Expectations and A Tale of Two Cities, first edition books and even the velvet-clad reading desk, from which Dickens conducted rousing dramatic readings of his stories across the UK and America. You’ll gain a remarkable personal insight into these treasures, as Lucinda shares both her extensive historical knowledge, but also her unique personal insight into the life and times of her 3x great grandfather.

So, if you’re looking for a truly unique experience this Christmas, look no further! These tours take place in small groups of no more than 15 people, giving you a wonderfully intimate and immersive tour.

Lucinda Dickens Hawksley is the 3x great granddaughter of Charles and Catherine Dickens. She is an art historian, author and broadcaster, and has penned books such as 'Dickens and Christmas,' 'Victorian Christmas,' and 'Dickens and Travel,' as well as publications such as 'The Mystery of Princess Louise,' 'Letters of Great Women,' and 'Lizzie Siddal: The Tragedy of a Pre-Raphaelite Supermodel.' Lucinda is the patron of the Charles Dickens Museum and currently serves as the president of the Dickens Fellowship.
