Dickens's Dream Magnet

£3.60

This beautiful fridge magnet shows painting featuring Dickens seated in his study at Gad’s Hill Place surrounded by the many creatures of his imagination. Buss began the painting shortly after Dickens’s death but it was to remain unfinished as Buss, himself died in 1872. The artist undoubtedly used photographs from a sitting Dickens gave to John Watkins in 1863. Due to this, Buss’ creation is an immediately recognisable image of the author and shows him with his characteristic beard.

There is a link which includes a key to all of the characters in Dickens’s Dream.
