Portraits of Catherine and Charles Dickens by Samuel Laurence
Charles Dickens sat for this portrait by Samuel Laurence in 1837 when he lived and worked at 48 Doughty Street. Dickens was so pleased with it he commissioned a companion portrait of Catherine in 1838.
